Poem: Longing for Heaven

10

Amid this world of strife

I long for heaven

I long for the gathering of the saints

With old martyrs and golden wings

Where neither sorrow nor pain is heard

Where war is distant

And neither racism nor tribalism has a trace

As only peace and order swims in the day

Where rulers exist not but one

With fiery eyes

Where famine exists not

And no one hungers or thirsts

Like the world we dwell today

Where it soothes another to issue pain

A place, where no one is a refugee

And no one has a color

Amid this world of strife,

I long for heaven
